Avalanche Rescue Course - Mt. Washington, NH

$280.00

One day course that is all field based. 

Students will learn when they are entering avalanche terrain and will work through the  process of developing a group plan for the day starting with a trailhead transceiver  check.

  • They will understand actions needed by the victim and responders when an  avalanche incident occurs.

  • They will demonstrate appropriate search techniques in  various situations as a solo rescuer and as part of a group rescue.

  • Participants will  work through one and two transceiver burials within specific areas and time  constraints.

  • In addition students will learn appropriate methods and the process for  locating a victim who is not wearing a transceiver.

  • Once the patient is excavated,  students will identify likely medical issues and complications.

  • Discussion of formal incident response along with how and when to request EMS  resources will be covered.
